I have a 1990 240sx, at 130,000 I took the ka24e out and put a ka24de in.After driving it for about 8,000 miles I'm ready to change engines again so I'm selling the ka24de. The ka24e ran good when I took it out and its all stock. The ka24de has flat top pistons which make the compression about 11:1, I have a 3 piece Cometic head gasket which cost $180.00 on it so it should hold up nicely. OBX headers, port and polished intake manifold and head. ACT 4 puck clutch and the bottom end has all new bearings and gaskets seals exc. I also put new valve stem seals on it as well. Like I said since the rebuild I've only driven it about 8,000 miles. This is a high compression engine so dont even think about running 87 octane, 91 or better. The only thing that is wrong with it is that the throwout bearing/clutch release bearing has been noisey since I put the act clutch in. It grabs great but makes a lotta noise when not engaged, ACT said they all make noise because of the heavy duty pressure plate. So if you just want the engine without the trans, then I would put a new bearing on it, if you want the transmission as well then I would'nt worry about it. This engine feels much much more powerful then the old ka24e but I want the nice sound of a blow off valve and I cant do that with high compression. So anybody who wants to swap a ka24e with a ka24de this is a great engine to drop in without worrying about high milage.I'll post some pictures later and email me if you have any questions or if you want to make a offer on either engine.
