Well the Alternator on my CA is about to let go. I have 2 brand new KA24E alternators in my garage. I've searched and searched and I found this thread

the KA and Cadet alt have similar outputs the cade has a lower output, i would try the KA

Does anyone know the extent of the fabrication required to get the alternator mounted?

I would rather get this KA alternator in since I don't want any downtime from getting the alternator rebuilt. Thanks guys.

You just have to modify the bracket alittle bit, but ya it should fit.

OK. I'll have to take a look at it tomorrow and see first hand what needs to be done. Thank you for your reply

OK.... All you need to do to get a KA24E alternator on your ca18dets is grind off top hole, on the KA24E alternator, where the tensioner bolt goes so it's as thin as the CA alternator. Then you need to lengthen the bracket. tada that's it
