i have a 1990 nissan 240sx with a ka24e that i just had the motor bored and rebuilt with a new head on it and it was runnin before with a bad head but when i put the car back togeather the car from the exhaust sounds like crap(which it didnt before i took it apart) and i does not have any power in the top end at all( did not do before also) and sometimes back fiers to which it aslo did not do before. I ahve checked the timing with a timing light like 10 times and it is in time? All of the vaccum lines are on right and do not have any leaks. I took the fuel rail off and all the injectors are spraying when i jump them but when the car is runnin and i take 1 and 4 injector wire off it kills the car like normal but when i take 2 and 3 wires off it changes nothing???? Like i said the motor maybe has 300 miles on it and we foiund out it had a bad head so we bought a brand new one with new cam and valvues and it started doing this as soon as we put it togeatheer and it is also blowing out a little blue smoke which it never did. I tapped the maf to c if it was bad while it was running and nothing happend i am stumped somebody plz help

i also pulled the brnd new spark plugs i put in and they are wet and black now what tells the car to run rich? what do i have to do to fix the plug problem?

It's a timing problem. Take it somewhere and have them double check it. It sounds like you didn't set it to TDC when you reassembled the motor.

Try a compression check. Check compression dry and wet. Wet meaning you put a couple of squirts of engine oil in the cylinder before you check the compression. The wet test should show slightly higher numbers. All of the cylinders should be within 20psi or so. The numbers should be around 170psi I think. Either way if you have one or two that show very low that could be the problem. I'm not too sure how to determin if it's the compression rings leaking or the valve seats leaking. I suppose the wet test would give you some indication. If zero change then I would lean towards the valve seats in the head. However, that is not to say that the head gasket isn't leaking between cylinder two and three. With your compression check, see if you don't get different readings with the tester in #2 and a plug in #3 or vise versa. If you put a spark plug in #3 and check the compression in #2 and it now reads 180psi, but with the plug out of #3 it reads 40psi. you just diagnosed a bad head gasket or warped head or a warped block or a crack in some casting somewhere. Goodluck. Keep us posted. Haha oh yea check cam timing.
