Im going to share what we have accomplish with this "TRUCK ENGINE" first Im gonna devided this into two diffrent set up, the first one will be the Nitrous set up and the other one the Turbo Set up. For the Nitrous set up best ET 9.66 in the 1/4 mile modification to the engine. stock rods , forged piston, dual weber carbs. using the nissan motorsport intake manifold and a racing espesification camshaft "secret". for the Turbo set up, since alcohol was used a Microtek management system was chosen. Have pictures of the set up if anyone is interested. keep in mind that this is a drag racing set up and the use of a G-force transmission was used in a Toyota Starlet "Ventura Racing" 3/4 chassi using 31x14 Good Year's slicks, Now CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO PUT PICTURES HERE. Thank u, and LONG LIVE THE KA24!PS- This my baby '73 Datsun 1200 [IMG][/IMG]

I believe since I'm going through this too, the bottom ends on both the E and DE are the same which means they should be able to use the same ARP headstuds. I have to figure this out soon as well, so were in the same boat.

so you mean the "main studs" NOT THE HEAD, since you say that the DE and the E uses the same bottom end.

wow, sounds really interesting! For the photos, why don't you just upload them to the members rides... then you can post them here, or just give us a link to your album.http://nissaninfiniticlub.net/photopost/

you need have someone host your pictures. the link above will allow you to do that. once hosted, right-click the image, click on properties, and copy the link that appears under "address." that is the link that goes between "[IMG][/IMG]"

you can post any picture already hosted online this way. for example, here is this website's banner

how much power was it making on those runs? and is this your motor? i'm kinda lost

Correct me if I'm wrong the head studs should mount into the shortblock then the head slips over them and is torqued down with the nuts on top of the head. That's why I said that the DE and E should be the same for them, because if the shortblock is the same the headbolts have to run through in the same position for them to work. Make sense?

Thats doesnt mean the the base surface on the head to the top of the hole for the stud is the same distance.

Use this photo hosting here on Nico, like mentioned before.

http://nissaninfiniticlub.net/photopost

Since your a member you should have no problem uploading pictures to there from your computer.

Did you have that 1200 up on ebay recently? I recall it being for sale w/o the engine but all set up for the ka. If I had a few extra g's i would have bought it.

IMHO it's easier to just use imageshack

you click "browse" find the picture on your hard drive, click "host it!" it will load the picture and even write the tag for you.

just copy the "thumbnail for forums 1" or "link for forums 1" tag and paste it in your post and it will display the picture

I'm as anxious as everyone else to see this head...

Ok here we go! The first picture is the one for the Turbo set up, and no this is not my set up, is the set up of Ventura Racing a Toyota Starlet which unfuntally was total while tunnig for more power to break into the 7's keep in mind that the 8.1 and 8.2ET's where the first time that this car went to the 1/4 of mile track. Some body ask for the HP of the set up, According to Michael Ventura: 703.89 HP@30 PSI. The second Picture is my baby with what it would be for now my Nitrous set up, using dual weber carbs , the next picture is showing the engine intall + showing the tubes from the 3/4 chassis to the front and showing off the KA24E cromed head cover that i got from a guy on ebay. As you can see in the picture I think i have enouth space for the turbo manifold. [IMG][/IMG]
