Given the choice would you spend $4,000 on a turbo kit including intercooler and labor guaranteed to give you 350 to the ground. Or would you put a rb25det into your s14 and put about 1200 into upgrades. The car is a daily driver i live in NY and the KA has 103,000 on it but the guy says that is not a problem and i wont need to rebuild it right now?

I SEEN PLENTY OF 100 PLUS KA RUNNING 350 PLUS HP NO PROBLEM. JUST INSTALL A NEW HEAD GASKET AND ARP HEASD STUDS AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOU ECU TUNNED RIGHT.

Why even go that far? I'd save the head gaskets and studs for if the gasket actually fails. As long as the motor is running well, compression and leak down are good, and no noticable wear issues, then you should have any significant problems over a low-mileage motor.

KA is not even in that one. 300hp is easily attainable with basic boltons with the RB25.

I'm a big RB fan, so I'd do the swap. The RB25DET can make 400whp without sweating.

Arent you going to have to pay labor too for the rb25det swap? And wouldnt that be a lot more than the labor for a turbo kit?Why would you even want something in your car, that you didnt install yourself?
