Did it jump time?

What exactly happened? Did it just start doing this all of the sudden? Or did you do something to your car, and now it's just starting to do it?

Try to be a little more specific.

Gonna need to know your entire setup man. Hard to troubleshoot from the bench if we're blind and have our hands tied.

Are you sure it 4grand and not say, 2500?

I have a t3 turbo with xs wastegate and a hks bov. i have a manual boost controller from ebay. I have the bov and the boost controller t'ed into a vaccum line on the side of my intake manifold. Right under the throttle cable. and the other port on my boost controller goes to my waste gate and the top is left open. My engine is stock. I removed the egr valve and its running a little better. I dont know what to do with the vaccum hose that went into all that. Do i just block it off? my car will rev up fine in neutural but when i put it in gear and floor it it takes off and then starts busting up. Does it matter which hose goes on top and bottom of the boost controller.

What do you have for fueling? pump? injectors? What are you doing to control fuel? SAFC? RRFPR? EMS?

Yes. You need at least a Walboro fuel pump and RRFPR or SAFC to get a basic tune in it. You will also need to back your timing off. Be careful, you about to blow your motor up.

I have heard that you can run small amounts of boost with basically stock engine management but I have never done it that way.

At a minimum, you will need a good fuel pump. Walboro 255L HP would be perfect. A 300zx TT fuel pump would also work fine.

A SAFC on top of that would be ideal as you can dial in your air fuel ratios for when your in boost.

12:1 will make it rich, but its better then running lean. You can swap out the rubber disk for a 10:1 FMU and be running a decent AFR. Just keep the boost at or under 8 PSI until you have a method of retarding timing on boost. I'm selling a Brand new Vortech 10:1 FMU right now for $50 shipped.Email me at [email protected] if you're interested.

I installed a fmu on my car today the 12:1. But my gauge is still saying lean. I looked at my ox sensor and the wire on the top was almost ripped off. Would that make my car still run lean. And im also wondering if my friend hooked my fmu up correctly.

Are you using a wideband O2 or narrow band. The narrow band is only good for idle mixture.

I meant the air fuel gauge. Do you know if its a narrow band or wideband? How do you know its lean?

I dont know its a faze air and ratio gauge. When it idles its on lean the highest lean bar. When i get on the gas it takes off fast then sputters and if i let of the gas a little bit it takes off a lil faster.

ITs a narrowband.

If you are running a 10:1 with a Walbro, you aren't running lean.

I will, but I think its cause of my o2 sensor. the wire broke off the top of it yesterday.

Your narrowband has nothing to do with it... It only affects part throttle operation. I have driven with it completely disconnected and I didn't realize it until I was 15 miles down the road and looked at my wideband...
