depends on your HP goal.....you know that the KA can handel up to 400RWHP on a SAFE tune...'

you can rebuild your engine with forged stuff check AMS's site...

also you need the 240 intake b/c the truck intake is a littil bit reserctive(SP)....

also if you are looking for BIG hp...i suggest swaping a 240 KA in b/c the truck KA and the 240 KA are usuing diffrent oil pump and diffrent crank shaft...

check here for more info about the ka :

www.ka-t.org

and this site for truck's :

Dont do anything in haste. Save your cash until you have done a crap load of research. Dont intend to have your truck running until next spring if you really want to do it right. With that kind of cash, you need to be really careful. Anyone will offer to turbocharge your truck for that much.

For 15000 you could make a wicked truck.. You can even have all the work done for you and still have change left over.

For that kind of money, i would buy a fully built crate motor either from AMS or Tophat. Do research on both companies and see which ones right for you. Get a 800 dollar + exhaust manifold. You COULD leave the intake manifold alone, or you could try to pick up a custom intake mani. Spend between 1000-1500 on a turbo, i would go for a GT t3/t4 hybrid, a gt32 or a gt35. 44mm wastegate, electronic boost controller, and whatever BOV.

That leaves your IC piping and your downpipe/exhaust. My boys a professional fabrication Guru. He has passed his certification, and welded boiler pipes for nuclear reactors(i dont think i need to say much more, the top 1 percent of welders in america fail this test on a regular basis). As his main job, he customizes offroad vehicles. Roll cages for everything, serious ones, exo skeletons for rock rigs, full on tube chassis rock buggies built from scratch. If you look into the world of 4x4 rock competition, you wont have to look far to find someone who swears by my friend. We have a few shops at our disposal, including one on our property with full fabrication ability. If you were looking for someone to do your job right the first time, i can point you in the right direction. Hes always looking for work, and after doing my IC piping and downpipe he wants to do more. Its a good break from his normal routine. If you want pics of the work hes already done, ill toss some up here.

The main reason iv said all that, is your not to far away from where i live, and if you wanted we could help you out on that side of it. I wouldnt want the motor work, or the tuning work, just the fabrication work, because i can offer the some of the best of that world.

Well you're definitely in the right place! You can get alot of information from this forum, and it's all from the guys that have already done some of the things you are looking for. All you have to do is ask, and we can all put our $.02 in and you can make your decision based on that. We're here to help you bro. But let me tell you, it does take time. Most of the work on these motors, is self fabrication. And you can go about it in many different ways. Granted, you can buy some bolt on stuff, but since you said you like to do it yourself, more power to ya! I did alot of my work myself, and it's more satisfying when you get your own hands dirty on your own project.

Any questions, just ask. We're here to help!

There's no need to spend 1500 on a friggin turbo, just cause you have money doesn't mean you need to waste it.

Answer a couple of simple questions and we can definitly show the avenue to look down.

Is it a daily driver? Will it be shown? Do you want fun power or a top end power machine? Will it ever see track time, if so what type?

I can probably get you running a very well tuned 400whp for under $5000. But everything depends on the route you want to take.
