I am pretty sure that there have been many threads about this topic but i havent seen any. so here it goes. I currently have a KA24DE on my 240. But i am seriously thinking or power. i am trying to do my research on all of these motors to do a swap. what i am mainly after is HP, Torque, and gas efficiency. so i do not know what will give me more for my money. either rebuild my KA and through in a T. or get a ca18DET or an SR. so if there is anyone who has either been through these three engines, or who has knowledge of anything that would help. please let me know.

This topic is debated nearly daily. Each has its merits, each its Achellies Heal. You just need to decide for yourself.

BTW: The CA pwns all.

So let me re-phrase my Question: IF the KA24DE had turbo what would be the max HP it would deliver? And the Same for the other two? I hope someone in here has the patience to explain. Thank you.

It's not an issue of patience, it is that you don't know the right question to ask.

The "max HP it will deliver" is a dangerous proposition. The answer is how much you can afford. Also, consider what you will be using the car for. That should help you decide the final motor. You also need to decide who will do the work and how hard you want to search for info and parts (the KA and SR is easier to kit out than the CA, but the CA is easy to build up if you know where to look). Once again, you need to do some learing before you just start posting away or making a very important decesion.

come to http://www.ka-t.org and find out. So far, a guy named Ivan from turbo240.com has run around 830 wheel horsepower with a KA.

I'm building my block for a big street turbo setup and am expecting to run 350-400 whp all day long.

cheers,8

Thats a nice little plug for another forum but oh well. Ka-t is the shiznit. So is SR so is CA, etc etc. These motor options are all cool BUT they all cost a good chunk of money. You have now entered the area where I am currently wading around. How to modify the car. Do you make it fast, make it look good, make it handle? It's all too confusing. Just cruise around each of the respective engines forums and read the stickys to get a general sense of direction then ... just go for it. Don't depend on anyone to help make up your mind, just do it.

Once again: It all depends on how much coin you have. If you want total power, look RB, but something tells me that since you are having to ask this question, you are not ready for big power. You have a lot to learn young Padawan Learner...
