I have a 1995 Nissan 240sx with a ka24de 5 speed. I bought it not running thinking that the battery was dead and the pressure plate was in really rough shape. The car turned over and acted like it wanted to start more at that point than it does now. I have replaced the clutch pressure plate and battery but now it sounds like a weaker turn with a new battery. so I checked the distributor for fire and the ignition modular that's built into the distributor and the spark was low so I replaced it and it's still the same. I checked the new distributor and ignition modular and it is right so I checked the timing and the timing was set correct as well. I also checked all of the little stuff that I could think of, like plugs, firing order, and so on. I checked all of those and set them to spec. I even altered some to forums but ended up setting them exactly to spec. I'm out of ideas of what it could be. PLEASE HELP ME WITH ANY IDEAS YOU MAY HAVE AS TO WHY IT STILL WON'T START!!!! Thanks so much.

you need air, spark, and fuel to run...make sure your getting all 3. when you put the key on auxilary can you hear the fuel pump priming...you should be able to hear a whinning from the trunk but only for a few moments.

I've checked the fuel rail and it's getting plenty of fuel. I also checked the spark which is also getting plenty. I haven't checked codes because I don't have the equipment to do so. The fuel pump is whining as well. I checked for vacuum leaks and everything is solid. So what else could it be? Could the problem possibly be in the wiring harness to the transmission?

i have a 91 and a while back my car did a similar thing it was running fun then wouldn't start all of a sudden, would roll over just fine and all, changed the fuel pump to no avail and later found out it was my ecu, if you have some friends with a 240 maybe you could try 1 and see before you buy 1
