I just recently rebuilt my ka from the bottom up. everything is new. i put the motor back in the car and tried to start it and it wouldn't. it would turn over but nothing. i replaced the distributer and it fired up on the first crank. it ran for a week , but the head gasket didn't seal so i replaced the head gasket. put the distributer back in and the car wouldn't do anything but crank over. the ecu threw a crank angle code, so i replaced the distributer to see if it would fix it, this makes the 5th distributer because i got the car with a bad one changed it and the car started but acted liked it was out of time so i put everything back in time and it wouldn't start and the ecu threw a cam posistion sensor so i replaced the distributer and it ran a week and then it stopped same code from before so i changed it and it ran fine for 2 weeks, i decided to fix the valve seals because they were leaking and this is when i rebuilt the motor. so what would cause this car to basically eat my distributer when i take out the distributer and why will it not start up anymore after its 5th distributer?? WTF???

I got it started, the cam timming was off two teeth on both cams. but it will only stay running if its at wide open throttle and it will only go to 1000rpms. it will occasionally start to rev up and then it stumbles and goes back to 1000rpms. the ecu threw a crankshaft sensor code. now W.T.F.???

Timing was already off, I'd set everything back to TDC and deal with it from there. Who knows what else could be off.
