Like the title says we replaced the head gasket now it won't start. It ran fine before and now it just back fires. I have read on forums saying that my timing could be off or I have a vacuum leak somewhere. I hooked up the fuel lines to the injectors right. I think my dizzy may have been installed wrong. Please help.

It is right next to the firewall between the block and the firewall. It has vacuum lines going into it.

that would be a solenoid of sorts for some emissions s***, i just did a full tear down and cheap rebuild of my KA, i had your same problem at first, i blew my headgasket and the water pump passage seal in my front timing cover, didnt think about the timing cover problem, just did a head gasket, and it never started again, i pulled my valve cover to check cam timing after about 20 mins of cranking and there was coolant in my head already, so i pulled my motor and did a full emissions/ vacuum line removal, and thats what that little "block"/solenoid is for, vacuum emiisions regulation, sorry bout the long post, but triple check your cam timing and 4x check your dizzy, after my rebuild mine once again wouldnt start, i stabbed the Dizzy a tooth off. a good way to check is to unbolt your dizzy, but leave it "installed", have a friend crank your car while you twist the dizzy 180* forward and back, if your compression is good, it should at least try to start while your twisting it. Also check compression on all 4 cyl, mine was #1 80psi; #2 90psi; #3 75psi; and #4 100 psi, it took like 2 mins of solid cranking with proper timing to get it just to try and start, i know i need a full rebuild lol, but if your compression is as bad as mine, your Timing must be 100% correct or nuttin will happen except thrown tools and lost faith in a KA
