Has anyone installed a de with an e's computer. What are your thoughts, will it work, won't it work, why or why not. Let me know

I cant see how a SOHC ecu made to fire top feed injectors could possibly work well on a DOHC engine with side feed injectors (I forgot if there is a difference in the impedance between injectors) I wouldn't do it personally, not when ecu's are a dime a dozen at the junkyards.

dur dur dur this is a real smart question

aside from the DE having 4 extra valves, another cam, oil quirters, different tach and speedo outputs, and im sure 20 other things different, YEAH SURE IT WOULD WORK. idiot.

You might want to know a thing or two before you go calling other people idiots, because it makes you look pretty stupid. It is a very good question. Anyways out of the above things you mentioned, the tach is the only relevant part as it requires a signal from the dist. which is different on the dohc ka. Driving the injectors would not be much of a problem as both are high impedence and similar flow rate (260cc).

There are two problems that i can see with doing something like this. 1. distributor, i do not know the exact differences in dohc/sohc dist (electronic advance, input signal to coil, tach output, etc...) Im sure there are some definate differences. 2. All of the senders (temp, iiav, cold start, etc.. etc...) would have to be transfered from the sohc to the dohc and work correctly for the sohc ecu to operate (because you would be using the sohc harness).

I have thought through this a few times in the past, really not to difficult to do. That is if your going to be using a sohc type dist.

I love how you start off by saying what i said made me look stupid, then address in no way at all. Obviously you can rig up an E ECU to run a DE, sh1t, you could rig up a tonka truck to run a DE if you really knew what you were doing. The point being that it's not really something anyone other than an idiot or someone extremely bored would do.

aside from that, i havn't read that in a while, but yes it will FIT. Last time I read that, he hadn't run it yet. It's funny because someone here in AZ that I know got a DOHC head on a SOHC block, but couldn't get it to run. I'm not saying this guys won't run, but it has been tried before, unsuccesfully. But - this is a totally different issue. Same series heads going on same series blocks - it's not that crazy. Using an ECU from an engine that is very much different down to compression ratio to valves to cam timing is just kind of a silly thing to ask. But believe me, I will be the first to kick my own *** if he does this without some stupid amount of time put into it.

the point was that two weeks ago if i were to have asked that same question some knowitall would have probably given me the same reply you have given pocrobs , everyone is here to learn if we all already knew everything this forum would be obselete, so maybe next time a logical answer would be put to better use.
