Hey I'm kinda new to the forums and I need some help ><. I just rebuilt the bottom end on my ka after my last one blew. After I dropped it back in, upon starting, there was a loud whistling sound that showed up above 1200 rpms somewhere underneath the intake manifold . Already checked the vaccum lines to no avail ><. If any one can help me out I'd really appreciate it!

Does it idle roughly under 1200 rpms?

Checked the gaskets and turns out the upper intake manifold gasket was leaking air but now there's coolant in the oil pan? I just changed the head gasket>< any ideas to how that happened after a rebuild?

Check the water pump? :gotme Could be the head gasket if you are having coolant leaking into the oil, and you are having trouble with idling which could be poor compression in one or more cylinders. Have you tried checking cylinder pressures?

Is this the bottom end from the blown motor?

The bottom end I got from else where and didn't have any problems with it. I am going to check the compression on the cylinders soon. I'll check the water pump as well and see what happens
