ok, this may sound kinda crazy but im looking for a water pump and housing from a 240SX.. I Have a '94 Altima and am going to run underdrive pulleys but need a 240sx specific waterpump and housing for my particular set. ( i ordered a set that fits the KA and SR20 motor both) but the altima uses a smaller hub and it doesent stick out as far as the 240 one does. I would appreciate any help in locating the parts i need as i live in KY and there arent many 240's laying around in the junkyards to locate parts suitable for rebuild and use

Rockauto.com, order a new pump and housing for any 240sx after 91, wont cost that much and you'll have it in less than a week. Oh and for the record the under drive pulley doesn't really provide any gains, it's pretty much just a cosmetic add on.

i was mainly adding them for the looks, but they are physically smaller and lighter so there has to be some gains in response

You're just setting yourself up for a problem when it fails in the future, and it will.

what is this water pump "housing" you speak of? There's the pump that bolts on to the front of the engine, then a pulley, some studs, a clutch, and a fan.

If its so critical that you are posting this all over our forum, why don't you just go to a junk yard and get exactly what you want.

i am referring to the housing itself..the water pump is 2 pieces the front which contains the drive hub and impeller and the other is the housing the impeller fits into and bolts to the motor.. and if i could find one easily in a junkyard i wouldnt have posted.. and no im not referring to the timing cover.. i am very familiar with these engines and would clearly know the difference.. i guess im gonna use my stock pump and pulley as nobody seems to be able to steer me in the right direction for some help... and im sorry for "posting all over your forum" kinda though that was the idea to discuss and find help and chat about cars...

Nope, its called spamming. That diagram I sent has all the components to the water pump... why can't you just say "it's component #8585493u89543" or whatever, or take a screen shot and circle it. The factory service manual has those same pictures.

When you buy a water pump, it comes in 1 piece... the impeller is already in the housing (pressed in maybe?). Water pump assemblies are cheap enough, why not just buy and and remove the part you don't want?

due, im getting tired of your ranting.. i am here to ask a dang question not listen to you call me a spammer.. i was referring to the altima setup as i am not familiar with the 240 setup, looking at your diagram i see that it is built into the timing cover on the 240... so sorry to have bothered you oh great one...geez, chill the F*** out already..
