Hi All, 91' 240sx se

I've checked the other posting on this subject and it seemed straight forwardbut when I went to start it I was a bit confused and wanted some advise before I get start since I need to get my car done in one shot.

I have a FSM, but they seem to leave out other prep you need to dobefore starting with the directions they provide.

Previously, the below was posted.

1. take off mech fan if you haven't already done so2. take off intake piping3. take off mech fan shroud.4. losen the water pump belt by adjusting the powersteering pully.5. take off the waterpump pulley6. take off bolts that bolt the water pump into the block.7. use a rubber mallet to kock off the water pump.8. place gasket on new waterpump and bolt back into block.9. do everything backwords.

Now, does #2 mean the air intake pipe that is from the air filter thathangs over the radiator and shroud.

If so, there are plenty of hoses connected to the air intake,do I disconnect them all and cover the holes to keep dirt out.

If you are able to get the mech fan off in step #1 doestaking off the intake pipe and shroud make it that much easierto finish the rest.

Thanks

10. when filling, make sure motor is on. (leave cap off)11. when it looks full, rev motor to about 3k rpm12. when motor warms up, thermostat opens and let air pockets out.13. move back as coolant will fly out of cap coz of air bubbles.14. Motor will warm up to the "H" mark or higher but will drop pretty quickly.15. When no more bubbles come out, top off radiator and over flow bottle.16. Take car for test drive. Done.

the person said to pull the fan off before the shroud because it's easier to wrestle with the fan without a loose shroud getting in the way. But you will pull the fan and shroud out as one unit.

Yes you will pull the intake tube that runs across the shroud out, you can plug the holes if you feel like it, but I wouldn't worry with it too much. Not much goes in there, especially if you're in a garage.

I've never experienced any coolant flying out of a radiator while bleeding for bubbles. Coolant typically flies out if the system is under pressure when you pop the cap. The most that can typically happen is a bit oozes out of the top.
