Not so sure about either of those. I have little to no experience with the DE inside the trucks. I only know the D22 used DEs so I'd look at pics of those for reference.

Here are some specs: ka24e: truck version= 134hp @5600 rpm & 152 lb ft of torque @4400 rpm.

ka24e: 240sx version= 140hp @5600 rpm & 152 lb ft @ 4400 rpm. (The only difference between the truck and 240 versions of the ka24e is the intake manifold.) Now on to the DE: ka24de truck version= 143hp @5600 rpm & 160 lb ft @ 4400 rpm.

ka24de 240 version= 155 hp @ 5600 rpm & 160 lb ft @ 4400 rpm.I have no firsthand ownership of any DE's, only my old 1986 z24i, and a 1997 ka24e.

The truck version should bolt in, but the 240SX version will not bolt up to a truck trans. The KA24DE98+ trucks is OBDII, so as stated, the electronics will be totally different.

...and the cams. Truck cams have different profiles from what I have read.

240sx motors are front sump, so you would have to make it rear sump.

ecu to match the motor.

Injector timing is different. TBI vs. TPI. TBI injects earlier, TPI injects at the last possible second.

Truck ka24e has SFI with 4 injectors, just like the 240 version. You can swap the manifolds. Its the older naps-z that has TBI. I have the stock mani on my truck, and while it has 134hp instead of 140, it isn't really that bad. It can still rev past 6000.

What's with the odd looking air filter box? Looks TBI (not saying it is).

Its a downdraft TB, so I can see how, (from the air cleaner), how it looks like a TBI, but the injectors spray right into the intake ports.

I have seen some places sell the 240 stock cam as the Stage 1 mild cam. I guess for the truck it would be a mild cam. I grabbed a used cam thinking I would get it re-profiled someday.
