The ticking may be due to valve stem clearance being large on one or more lifters. The fuel injectors also make a somewhat ticking sound.

ok i know what the injector sound is. defanitly valve train. whats the easiest way to remedy this? new valve springs seats and retaineds? or is this an adjustment. i'm thinkin stage 1 or 2 cams if they gotta be replaced and some nice dual springs an titanium seats and retainers.

You need to check the valve stem to lifter clearance with a feeler gauge. The KA24DE motor uses solid lifters with replaceable shims that you can purchase from a Nissan dealer.

Valve stem clearance:Intake: 0.31 - 0.39 mmExhaust: 0.33 - 0.44 mm

First warm the motor up. The clearance is checked with the lobe pointing up, which is away from the valve stem.
