I searched and found some helpful info thanks to http://www.zeroyon.com/index/content/view/24/47/ and http://www.project-mayhem04.com/EGR%20Removal.html but I haven't found a clear enough answer. I have a 95 240sx ka24de and its been overheating the past weak. My radiator is fine but I spotted water leaking under my intake manifold. According to the pictures from the FSM and the sites above I believe the leak is coming from one of the vacuum lines. Since these are metal lines is there a way to repair the leak and if so how? In order to get to this leak I would have to remove my intake manifold, which I heard is a PITA, so if anyone knows what would be the process for removal? Thanks

chances are you blew the intake manifold gasket. its not all that common, but it does happen.

you can uy this gasket at autozone or anywhere felprop is sold for something like 7 bucks. Its a paint to do intake manifolds, but im almsot certain this is where the leak is, as no coolant travels through vacuum lines.

the coolant lines are so large, and the pressure so great, tha t aleak in one of those would have fluid spraying.

if it dribbles near the front cover or towards the middle, its the intake manifold gasket...

the process for removal is outlined like crap in the FSM. find it, its in a sticky on one of these pages.

Thanks for the info but it wasn't a gasket. My dad, bro, and I worked on it last night but couldn't get the intake manifold off (so I'm still searching for a removal process). We removed enough parts to get a closer look at the leak. It seems its a metal pipe (don't know what kind) thats connected to the lower intake manifold/collector. Its rusted/corroded at the elbow of this pipe. Since its part of the intake manifold I figured I should just replace the whole intake manifold. I'll head over to a junkyard and see what I can find, maybe get a lsd and some 5 lug hubs for a conversion while I'm there.

or you can sand the leaking pipe down/clean it off with a solvent and cover with jb weld, also the problem you're likely having taking the intake off is the two lower brackets tying the intake to the block, the rear one is a piece of cake but the one towards the front of the engine is a real biatch becuase there a bolt hidden behind the alternator!! the alt doesn't have to come all the way out, but damn near. also you need to disconect the pipe going from the exaust to the egr. i couldnt get mine off so i cut it and plugged the exaust the pulled the vacume line from the egr diaphram..
