I think greddy makes a kit for the s14 don't quote me on it but you should be able to google it.

I've seen it for s14's also but I'm not sure if it's still in production. They might have discontinued it.

If you are willing to do some research, I would build the kit yourself. There is plenty of information on the ka-t forum that can help you put together a quality kit.

Just a word of warning though, I would leave out the cheap part when it comes to buying certain parts that can make or break your turbo set up.

Greddy is really cheap right now (like $2500 complete)...however; most recommend avoiding it...it takes about another $1000 to address all the little issues apparently and that puts you right in the ballpark for a much more capable DIY setup....the guys at ka-t.org have tons of posts on this.

cheap & 320 (whp?) don't go hand-in-hand. 15lbs is not low boost for a KA.

Read up on the stickies in the ka24det subforum - covers most of the kits you can buy. ka-t.org has lots of info as someone else has mentioned as well.

well cheap turbo wise, i got a buddy that owns a machine shop so mmy motor alone will be cheap and capable of about 250 or so by itself,so i wont need a big expensive turbo kit i want the car to be killer reliable but the way it will be set up 15 pounds will be low daily driver, but at the track it will be pushin way more than 15.but thanks again

250 to the crank, even with 20% drive train loss, is 200 to the wheels.

After seeing a lot of people try & fail building up n/a to get anywhere near 200whp (w/ extensive modding - we aren't counting "NOS" here), it's just very doubtful. Even then, a 200whp n/a ka24de (if you can even get it there) is built toward n/a -> i.e. you can't just slap a turbo on it after and call it day - you'd be running too high compression, different cams, etc.

Please do, prove me wrong.

Just one of my pet peeves w/ new ppl popping on here and asking how to build a car to make 250-300 whp for "cheap". Your whole first post & supporting posts are just completely riddled w/ "i'm a fanboy & have not read anything up on turboing the KA" mentality. 15 psi, low boost - what kind of "cheap/budget" turbo you planning on running that is low boost @ 15 psi?

Seriously, the turbo stickies on this forum & from general searching should give you an idea what type of turbo kits are available, how they perform, and the relative cost for the power range you want.

Sincerely,One of your nico resident ***holes

ya know what you are right i guess i havent read up on ka-t builds enough even though that was my original thought, thats what i really wanted to build i admit 250 crank is a little more than i think i will ever get im not on this site to argue with people and i was hoping i could have a motor capable of 19 or so pounds of boost at the track but is that too far fetched for a ka? i need to do a little more reading, how much boost do yhou think i would get compfortably out of a t28?

You can do 19 psi as long as you build your engine to support it. And 19 psi on a t28 isn't "THAT" bad - hope you choose the right t28 where you won't be just pushing out hot air.

Instead of focusing how much PSI you wanna run, focus on how much power you want, then read up on people's builds who have similar power & see how much time & money it cost them. From there, see if you can swing the cash to do it.

Read the ka-t.org forums & the stickies on here & search for the setup you want to run. Again, the bast majority of the information is out there.

I wouldn't recommend more than 8 psi everyday driver with stock bottom end and a good tune.

NO Sir, I mapped a t28 at 17psi Max Boost ( 74% island of course). You could push it to 19psi but then you'll be in the 50% efficiency ( not good). This is with stock bore , no cams , 7200rpms. On a built engine (bore , cams etc.) Its VE will be higher which means a small turbo will have a harder time filling it up. Therefore Built ka + t28 = 12-14psi MAX. Cool thing is the built engine will make the same or more HP at the lower boost than the stocker at higher boost.

read my last sentence: "hope you choose the right t28 where you won't be just pushing out hot air."

I would imagine a t28 such as the garrett gt28r could hold more psi than whatever t28 you mapped out - not all are the same. I haven't done extensive research on t28's since I personally run a t3/t4, but there are many different combinations.

And by "19 psi is not "THAT" bad", I had that in context that the normal turbo ka's run are t3/t4's. 19 psi on a t3/t4 is DRASTICALLY different than a t28, hence, 19psi on a t28 isn't "THAT" bad.

Dude , unbunch and return those panties! I just don't want another KA-T noob blowing his engine and blaming the KA for it. I hate that.

I have mapped the HKSgt2530r which is bigger than a gt28r (310hp vs 350hp) it is even bigger than a gt28rs (63 trim comp vs 62 trim - very slightly I know , but still bigger ) So yes 19psi on these T28's is not only "that bad" its NO MAN'S LAND!

The only t28 that is safe to boost 19+ psi is THE GT2871R. I would have posted that first if I knew you were going to blow a headgasket about it. Ask Sunnys I think even this turbo at 23psi will GAMEOVER a KA.

DEATH TO MISINFORMATION!

T3/T4 topmount all the way. Or any topmount for that matter.
