KA24DE Tuning FUN!!

Ok im not too educated in the field of the KA24DE. I hear that its a pretty good engine and since I want my car to be a daily driver, tuning it looks to be my only option for passing smog. Now. Can I get some feedback as to what kind of things I should do to the engine to prepare it for a major upgrade (i.e. forced induction)?In some of the forums I read that the KA24DE has some problems with high power mods without doing some work on the engine itself. I heard stuff about problems with the rods and other stuff, but here, i can get a straight answer as to what needs to be done.
