ka24de Transmission HELP!

Hey guys! So my ka24de transmission differs from my ka24e transmission only by a metal round thing on the end of it. Can I just hammer this thing out??

Why not just leave it? Have yi u even tried to fit it? Thr only difference between the 2 are bell housings and I guess now the metal ring. People have been interchanging them for years and ive never heard of problems with it. Try to fit it first before you start hammering s***.
