Will an auto transmission from a SOHC fit on a DOHC that was factory 5 spd? Basically, i'm swapping from the SOHC to the dual, without doing the manual conversion too. THANKS in advance!

yes it'll fit. if the car was a dohc with a manual transmission as I'm assuming, you'll have some wiring to do. but if it's auto to auto, then shouldn't be too bad at all. just a real pita to get it up and fitted.

honestly, i'm lazy. the shell its going into was a factory auto and i don't wanna mess with the pedal/lines/clutch master cylinder, things of that nature.

I have another one that isn't is as good a shape (body and interior on the automatic are damn near perfect) that is a 5spd, SOHC. It runs now, after slight work, put won't pull. It sat in a field for like 4 years before i got it, so i'll change the clutch plate and throw-out bearing on it, and if that doesn't fix it, i have the other 5 spd transmission to slap in it! Its motor needs rebuilt to, so i'll drive it until it blows, then maybe do a KA24DE of SR20DET swap on it. I have a maxima too, and i considered pulling the VG30E out of that beast and using it in the 240!!!

But the sad part of all of this is that my everyday driver is a 1990 Silverado with a built 350 in it. I'm just building the 240 to have something to drive when i'm working on my truck.
