So I new to the 240 game, I just pick up this 1991 se coupe

it has 98,000 miles on it and I picked it up from the original owner:D

so far i have done New plugs, wires, cap, rotor, battery, belts, z23 fuel filter, air filter, and oil change.

Performance wise my local muffler shop made me a 2.5 in cat back with a muffler i picked up from craigslist. and i removed the wing haha

I think the clutch, bearing and flywheel?

what else should be done to keep her reliable?

right now the CEl comes on and off intermittently and the dash(HUD) does like to light up for 15 min at night time.

and when its hot outside it runs super sluggish.

I think it might be a wiring issue or a possible vacuum leak?

anyideas that you have to keep her reliable will be greatly appicated

ps. yes i have searched sooo many topics.. for like hours on end. haha

Hmm, I've heard of this happening but don't remember the solutions.Perhaps a faulty coolant sensor could cause this? It's the sensor on the front of your intake manifold with a red plug.

I'll try to help you out because your rockin' a '91 coupe too. I typed away a little... Have a check engine sign?If you think it's a vacuum leak you check it the same way you look for pinhole boost leaks. It's a safe and easy way that doesn't involve flammable spray. Find a PVC end cap that fits the intake behind the MAF sensor. Tap it for a 1/8 npt nipple. After that, hook the air compressor up to it and turn it down to about 8-10 psi and start listening for little whistling or hissing noises.Alternatively you can just look for cracked or pulled hoses.$200 is a good labor price for clutch. Puck if you really wanna spank your motor. Stock if you just like a little cruise. I have a Centerforce dual friction on my RB25DET. Pressure plate has centrifugal weights and the clutch has one side 8 puck with the other stock looking. Grips and drives well. Performance wise (from my experience) the only thing that really helped the the high end was a high flow cat and exhaust. New intake only helped with the sluggish throttle response.Reliability wise, well the KA24DE is a pretty bullet proof motor that only go's bad a high rpm. (If you take care of it )
