i changed my cam sprockets

now the car runs like sh*tthere is much less power compared to before.

i cant even spin the tires in 1st gear anymore.

so my question is.

is it possible for the upper chain to slip without the cam sprockets installed??

my camshaft sprockets line up at TDC EXACTLY how the JWT picture shows it.now the circle mark on the sprocket lines up in between the chain teeth instead of in the chain teeth

if i turn the crank i cant tell if my timing is off by a tooth or not because at TDC its perfect OR i can turn the crank clockwise a bit (20 degrees?) and the cams are still at TDC unless i turn it any more then 20degrees then the cam starts to move.

should i make it so that the cams already start to turn when turning the crank from TDC?

its really pissing me off, my exhaust has this unburnt fuel smell.

half throttle accelerates more then full throttle. my idle is going up and down.

i hope someone can help!

Is your plug wire order correct?

#1 at front, then 3,4,2 going ccw, -

Hows your ignition timing?

ignition timing is set at 20btdc

when the crank is 20btdc the distributer is facing towards number 1

then 3 then 4 then 2

the little square groove on the sprocket was stretched.

anyways,i moved both intake and exhaust cams back 1 tooth.

much more power, no more fuel smell ,no more funky idling.

but is it possible that the intake cam could be a tooth off??

when i accelerate hard the intake is LOUDER then the exhaust.and still doesnt pull as hard as it used to

Set the crank to TDC on the COMPRESSION STROKE. At this point, the timing marks on the sprockets should be located under the chain link not between them as shown in this picture:

at TDC are my #1 cyl cams supposed to be facing up like in the picture? Directly away from each other. or is it a bit more complicating?
