What's up my name is Michael and i have a 95 240 that will not rev past 5500 rpm no matter what!!! i can downshift and the trans will pull the revs up to 7 grand but i'm not making any power. when i hit the limiter it feels just like the one for top speed that kicks in at 120mph. i though that it might be the computer so i got a different one that was supposed to be good and the same thing happened. i am planning on getting a turbo and want to be able to get the most out of it. if anyone can help me PLEASE DO!!!! Thanks in advance!

What do you mean by "not rev higher" Like won't go faster, or physically bounces off liek its a rev limiter?

It bounces off at 5400 like a rev limiter.

Try cleaning out your MAF connections with some compressed air and/or try a new one.

I have never tried the compressed air thing. I'll see what it will do. Does dirrection matter. Seems to me I would want to go backwards right? Anyways, have you ever heard of this or are you just tring to help with ideas? I am not saying your wrong. I am just currious because I have asked many people that I know and a few shops and none of them have ever heard of this kind of thing before.

When you unplug the sensor from the maf, the pins might be dirty, causing a poor connection and bad read out. I said to use compressed air (like that which you dust your keyboard with) because it dosn't involve any actual physical touching of the pins like a tooth brush or fingers would. Am I positive that it will solve the problem? no but its worth a shot.
