wussup, i own a 1990 nissan 240sx 5-spd and i would like to put a ka24de in it instead of tha ka24d that is in it. my question is which model should i get (from what i am told different types of the motor come in the different 240's ex 1991-1994, 1995-1997 etc...) and what will i have to change under my hood to do so. i already know about changing the computer, wireharness, and power steering lines but is there ne thing else?

don't know much about swaps... but just to get you on track... you have the KA24E not KA24D... and I'm pretty sure the KA24DE is basically the same from 1991-1998

Perhaps you should try asking the all motor section, also try the search button. I'm sure there is an article somewhere about this.

By the way the 1990 had the KA24E, not KA24D. It will make your search easier as well as allowing people to understand your question.

Oh one more thing, there are quite a bit of mods for the KA24E as well. In case you haven't found any yet, keep looking.

As far as I know about the swap the following is required.

KA24DE( Preferably one from the s13, I hear the s14 has the ODB 2(?????) which is more increased pollution control then the s13, someone correct me if Iam wrong)

Wiring harness/Computer/Power Steering Pump and or lines/ Gauge cluster and harness for that(or you can probley splice the wires, I have no ideas which ones though.)And the KA24DE flywheel, the trannys for DE and E are the same, but Iam sure the flywheels are different.

Thats all I can think of, if I failed to forget anything or something is wrong, please input.

get the engine from the 91-94. the cams are set a little differently from what i hear, supposedly made a little stronger too, but also heavier. i dont know too much of the differences. im runnin with my stock 96 right now and i got the engine from my '95 that i wrecked in my garage. but when you get the computer make sure its before 96 or you get stuck with govenor, believe me it sucks.

Governor is on all the 240s, a computer reprogram is the only way I know of defeating it, there is a myth of a special wire you can cut, but I can not confirm it, some probley can. The ones that have done it have mixed opinions, I have heard it works and others say it messes up your fifth gear.
