I busted my oil pan a while back, didn't know until the next day, it was a very small crack. That next day I drove it half way down the block(before I found it was barely cracked) it slowly started running louder and then the oil light came on, so I went back and parked it. Got a new pan on, fresh oil, and I started it up, it was cool at first, then after about 15 seconds or so it had some pretty bad valve chatter. I don't know much about these, so any information or suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance!

Did the oil light come back on? When it's running, pop the oil cap and have a look to see if oil is flinging around pretty good. I have a feeling it may not be valve noise but rod knock, but hopefully I'm wrong there! You can take a long screw driver or pry bar, and put the end on the cylinder head, block and other areas of the motor and the handle side up to your ear/temple to isolate where the noise is coming from. That may help you narrow it down a bit.

Yes, the oil light stays on constantly when running. Thanks for the advice, I will have to try those things for sure

No problem. If the light is on the whole time, you are not building any oil pressure. Did you check the oil pickup when you changed the pan to make sure it wasn't broken, bent, closed off, etc? Good luck man, but I'm afraid it may be a little too late!
