hey i have a 1995 240 sx se.i want to take my valve cover off to paint it. i would like to go with dark blue. when i put the valve cover back on. will i need a new gasket?, and can anyone tell me what i have to torque the valve cover to. thanks.coady

I'd recommend a new gasket and a small bead of RTV. As far as the torque value, its in the FSM (search for free FSM). There's a certain pattern you're suppose to torque them in, or I'd simply post the torque value.

buy a new valve cover gasket and the torque value is good and tight. Almost most new valve cover gaskets have the little half circle pucks as one piece so you shouldn't need any RTV.

I always use a small bead of RTV around the entire thing, in between the valve cover and the head. That ensures that there's no possible way for it to leak.
