i first got my car (89 240) about a yr ago w/ the intention of getting a sr20 swap but after thinking this over i decided to keep my car NA w/ the ka24 engine but now im wondering if i should swap my car to the ka24de. so what i want to know is, what are the advantages/disadvantages of swaping my ka24e for a ka24de? and what would this swap run me.

You can normally find a low-mileage used DE for about $500-800. SO take that, add labor and there's a number to play with.

yeah i am planning on doing the same thing! i have an 89 240sx with valve problems and i found cheap ka24de engines at dirt cheap prices and that's cheaper than replacing all 12 valves. can i just drop the ka24de in place? ecu upgrade needed? will transmission from ka24e work with the DE? thanks!
