okay after i got everything figured out and stuff. i got the engine to crank. it wouldn't start cuz it wasn't getting any fuel... then when we finally got fuel there was a hole in the tank.. so i jacked it up and patched up the hole. but before i found out there was a hole i tried cranking it after i put a new alternator in. the first time i tried to crank it ... it was alright. then the second time it got weaker... then the third it wouldn't crank at all anymore and the starter wasn't doing anything at all. everything would be dead... almost. i couldn't turn on my lights anymore. then the next day i got my friends battery. it wouldn't crank at first but after a few tries i got it to crank once? weird... now after i patched the fuel tank, imma try filling the tank up tomorrow with some fuel and hopefully i can get the motor to crank and see if the motor starts... Oh yeah it was an automatic so i have jumper wires jumping that park and neutral plug thingy majigy :S

okay today i found out that there was a wire that i grounded which wasn't grounded properly. so i put gas in the tank tried cranking it... it was turning over but it wouldn't start then i heard something spraying and i looked under the hood it was the fuel line it wasn't tight enough. so i tightened it and when i tightened it. i tried starting it again then the motor was turning over but i had no power :S like no lights in the car or dash.. :S. and as the motor was turning over all i heard was BLOB BLOB BLOB.

pull your plugs out and make shure your getting spark..might have fould the plugs..or may have bad gaps..there really isent enough info to give ya a better area to start in..but try there anyways.

hmm do you know if the alternator has to be plugged in to have the motor running? cuz i was reading the e to de write up and it says that my motor could be cranking but not turning over and the alternator could be a reason for that. but i thought that the alternator only charges the battery. so you could probably run your motor with out it and battery would probably jus die. unless the ecu needs it?

so still doesnt start

check all your ground wires, make sure your timing is right If you can get your car to start unplug your injectors one at a time make sure you dont have a dead one or multiple

it was all shakey when it was running and it sounded like it was gonna die. i didn't have a down pipe when i started it and maybe this is like the first time it got started in maybe a year?

hmm. is the fuel pump really quiet? or does mine jus not work properly. i think i heard it working that time i got the motor started. and for some reason when i try to crank the engine all i get is a TICK TICK TICK TICK sound from the starter. really fast. jus finished charging the battery too :S weird. is there a thread here for engine ground locations? :S this is my first time building a car so yeah. bought an s13 shell and put this ka in it. pretty sure its still timed tho.

OMFG !!! all this time i thought my motor was messed. it works fine now jus need a new starter. the problem was either dirty spark plugs or my ground wires weren't bolted all the way down.... now do you know if my starter is f'd up if i have to tap with a hammer to get it to work?

are you saying you're not sure if you're starter is dead or not?

I wouldn't doubt it as it sounds like you probably tried to crank it a FEW too many times, too recent to each try.take it to advance auto parts or something and have it load tested.the multifunction battery charger you might have doesn't load test...

my word would say it was both the plugs and groundboth of those are very notorious problems.

let us know what happens.

the starter can be rebuilt man..there is a little gizmo calld um (bendix) that ither pop's in or out "depending on type" to engage the flywheel..it might cost ya 40 bucks..check around.
