Swapped in a KA24DE into an 89 body, with an 89 transmission, since the donor motor came from an automatic car.

We've set the distributor properly, so that shouldn't be an issue. Checked our grounds as well. Wiring is correct (yellow-red to yellow-red, yellow-green to yellow-green, orange to orange, blue-black to blue-black and black grounded to another black wire going to ecu plug). Using the DOHC maf, harness and ignition coil.

The engine cranks over but we aren't getting fuel or spark. Tested for spark at the plugs and at the ignitor, and got nothing. We pulled a spark plug and there was no fuel smell on it. We pulled the fuel line and there was definitely fuel getting to that point. Then we pulled the fuel rail and there was nothing coming out of the injectors.

When we turned the car over then turned the ignition off, the EGI relay under the hood started to buzz, and did so until we pulled out the fuse or unhooked the battery. Then I found a wire under there that looked like a ground. I grounded it and the buzzing stopped. Still no fuel or spark though.

Also we ran the diagnostics and got a code 55, which means all sensors are fine right?

Where should we go from here? Thanks for any help you may have!

Well the CAS could be bad, since that's what sends the signal to ECU to send fuel. Also for your spark issues try switching out your ignition control module to a working one

Did you Check all your fuses?? Does the fuel pump prime when you turn the key on? Also make sure you have your fuel lines on correctly, i had mines backwards lol...

We've swapped out all the fuses, we've swapped out the ignition module as well. The fuel pump does prime. And yes, the hoses are on correctly. :)

The CAS is built into the distributor right? So getting a new distributor would solve the problem if that is the culprit?

Pull a good ground to the block and intake manifold. I've seen that be an issue before

Definitely check grounds, make sure the ECU is getting power. Do you have the ECU from the donor car? The SOHC ecu will still run a DOHC, it will just run rich.

Thanks, I'll try the SOHC ecu, I didn't know that would work.

As a follow up, I did the test where you pull out the crank angle sensor and give it a turn and listen for the injectors. I couldn't hear the injectors but I definitely could hear the EGI pump relay clicking and the fuel pump going. But couldn't hear anything from the injectors...

Well we figured it out. We removed all the wiring for the remote starter and car alarm and got it back to looking stock. We also re-did some of the grounds. Turned it over and it finally fired up!
