Hello,

just signed up, it seems this forum has a lot of traffic so i though my questions will get answered here. i have a 510 and am dropping a ka24de in it. i bought the motor, trans harness and ecu. i was think of posting in the dastun forum but i taught its a ka why not post in the ka forum.

sooo my first question is how can i tell which cams i have in this motor. the guy who sold it to me said they were BC cams v2 but im pretty sure his is full of it, they look pretty stock.

i also have another ka that my bud gave me. i measured the I and E on my motor and compared it to my bud, mine : intake .354 exhaust .370, donor motor ; intake .351 exhaust .370.

ive been searching everywhere for the lift spec but since there are so many different cams i just dont know what i have. also there is a lot of talk of duration when talking about cams, how do i measure that?

have pictures but cant find my camera:(

thanks for all the help

well id say first just look at the cam lobes, if they are pretty normal sized then probably stock, bigger, aftermarket, also they should have the orange and green paint on them that usually means stock. post pics and we could tell for sure

duration has to do with the overal width of the cam lobe and the way that it is shaped in that it allows for a longer open valve

the cams in stoke ka's are pretty mild

I've been looking for the answer to the number stamp question my self. I have a thread up in the 240 forum asking about it also. From what i have found and from talking to other people there are cams numbered 1-5 with ones stamped 3 and 4 having intake and exhaust pins. Im working on this and might just go get a dial indicator this weekend to see if the stamping means anything. Hopefully someone will have this answer before i have to do all that

Bringing up an old three here, but do you guys know where to mount the computer and harness on the 510 when you're swapping in a KA24DE?
