ka24de swap into '97 hb wiring question

ok i'm sure the answer has been posted several times, but i cant find it and any help is greatly appreciated. i took a ka24de out of a 94-240 and am in the process of putting it in my 97 hb. now i got the ecu and the harness with the motor when i got it, what i didnt realize is how the harness is spidered all through the hb. it looks like its gonna be a nightmare trying to get it out from underneath the dash. my question is can i replace the ecu, leave hb harness in the truck and cut the plug ends and splice in the ka24de plugs. if not is there any type of a link to pulling all this wire out. thanks
