If you go with the frontier KA24de its a direct swap in deal but the 240sx engine will pose a few clearance issues with the oil pan, plus you will have to rewire for the ignition setup. peace.

I'm basically going to try this same swap, but I need some more info. like will the truck oil pan fit on the DOHC motor and will I be able to use the truck CPU or do I need the one out of the car and the wiring harness, any other techinical info will be appreciated, I'm kinda in a pinch here to find out if this will work, thanks in advance.

Truck blocks share nothing in common with the car DOHC, however the frontier DOHC is just a SOHC truck block with the DOHC head. I would run the car ECU myself and do all the work to put the harness in and what not BUT I do know a guy who bolted in the frontier DOHC KA in a HB and didnt change the harness at all. It kinda depends on what year truck you have as well, the 96&97's have pretty much an identical engine bay to the 98-2000 frontiers only utilizing the SOHC KA. The earlier pickups have a different harness and dizzy(external coil). Now, lets say you have a 94 nissan pickup and a 94(obd1) not 95(obd1/obd2) 240sx engine and your trying to accomplish the swap with little changes to the harness, its possible. I would just worry about the MAF being a problem and having to be wired for your setup, if you use the 240 maf. This scenario could also work if the engine is a 95 and your truck is a 96 or 97 because your dealing with OBD2 style harness. Anyway, I am sure you will have to read this a few times because even I am losing track, lol. peace.

I've been told several different things, so I came here for maybe some reliable info., but I mainly need to know what if any rigging will have to be done to make this swap work. Also what would have to be done for the ignition wiring setup and what would have to be done with the MAF setup. Can you think of anything else that would have to be done that hasn't already been mentioned. Thanks!!!

lol, if you're not ready for snags then you're not ready for such a swap.Prepare for Wiring issues, oil pan mods, and possible cutting/welding.I gave you the best advice I could in three different posts. peace.

when i did this, but with a single cam the trucks oil pan had to extended about an inch.....thats when it is a good time to know people..i would stick with a block out of a truck to make life easy....oh yeah you can slap the dual cam head on the single cam block...so i hear, but then you have to do the ecu and all of that stuff for it to run right.......i am planning on doing the head swap in the next year...i will post it up

you will need a frontier front cover, I can get you one if you want. The DE head is not a direct bolt on unless you use the fronty covers. peace.

I have a 96 Hardbody that I want to do the ka24de swap on I'm wondering in place of a 98 to 2000 Frontier motor could I use a 2000 Xterra motor instead and still be a direct Plug and Play swap. Is it is it the truck block with dohc or is it the car block with dohc
