Alright i got a 96 ka24de in a 92 hb 240sx: we swapped everything from the 92 on to the 96. (we used the 92 harness, distributer, and manifolds). we got the car running but it wouldn't idle, it only runs when you give it gas around 2000-2500 rpms, it will stall if you let go of the gas, and bogg when you give it too much. i thought at first it was because i used the 96 intake manifold but when i replaced it with the 92 manifold it wouldn't even run, it wants too( it fires and cranks but no idle and no run).

before i start spending more money "fixing the problem" does anybody know the fix to this

Before i switched the intake manifolds i didnt notice the idle screw because i was lookiing for it near the throttle body. once i swapped them the car would crank but not run...i tried adjusting it afterwards to see if it would atleast run but it did nothing and i dont want to turn the screw too much incase i get it running i dont want to have it so far off that i think the same problem is occuring.

I was told it could be my TPS, or MAF sensors.. im going to try and replace them and if that doesnt work im going to put on the old intake manifold and try adjusting the IACV screw

Well the 240sx is now running and it idles..... it was a combination of the throttle cable adjusting and the IACV screw it just took some time of working them together because i dont have the second cable which holds the idle pulley thing on the throttle body. AS FOR WHY IT WOULD NOT START UNTIL TODAY your guess is as good as mine . now i got to find out why im misfiring even though im at TDC. besides this it appears like ive almost accomplished the swap.

any question or suggestions are appreciated.

P.S funny thing was a friend noticed the problem in 2 seconds it was so easy but i was thinking so complex, an extra set of eyes does not hurt even when you have had 10 people working on it.

Make sure when you do this swap to pay attention to the throttle cables adjustment when removing. i personally dont have other cable on my throttle body which i believe is for cruise control and to help idle.

I also unfortunately have a junk aftermarket intake which is so loose the MAF sensor wasnt reading the right amount of air coming in, i think all these factors together may have been the reason it wasnt running when i first switched the intake mani.

Makes sense, but you don't learn much from a swap if there aren't "issues." Glad to hear it's looking up.
