I have a '90 240 with the single slammer in it sitting at 314,xxx kms and there's a twin-cam I can pick up for relatively cheap with 200,xxx kms.The guy selling it swapped it out for an SR20 so what I'm wondering is, what could be missing off the engine (that I need) that would have been needed for the SR swap?He doesn't really know what might be missing, so that's why I'm asking you guys.
Neither of our cars have A/C so that's not an issue. He has an ECU for me and I know for my car I'd need the PS lines and reservoir, accelerator cable, coil assembly and MAF, wiring harness (he cut it) as well as a DOHC tach.
So out of everything that I need to go from SOHC to DOHC, what parts would he have taken to go from KA to SR?
Also, slightly off topic, how difficult would this swap be for someone that hasn't really worked on their car before?I haven't exactly had the tools/space to work on it before so I've always taken it to a shop, and this is my first crack at getting some real hands-on experience.I do have a buddy who can help and he has plenty of tools, so how difficult should I expect this to be?
Thanks in advance everyone.
