Is a ka24de from an automatic transmission compatible with a 5-speed transmission? Are the input shafts the same on both trannys?

also you the automatic engine has a pilot converter, you need to take that out and put in a pilot bushing from a 5sp KA. my 96 KA came from an automatic, and my car's a 5spd.

I have a motor from an auto in my 5 speed. I didnt change the pilot bearing and it works just fine. However asleep altima and I are still unsure if the input shaft even stabs the crankshaft on the altima.

i was talking about this today with someone, and im starting to think that after a certain year, the input shaft design was changed... maybe rev could verify this for me? im thinking 97.5 and later are different...
