Ok ima try to make this long story short!! Ok my 240sx went through hell with me trying to fix it!! i spent a load of money trying to make it work and now its still not done! however, i love my 240sx as will as everyone else in this forum ima try my best to fix it. I bought about 5 mafs in believe it will fix my idle issue! and it hasnt fix nothing!! my idle would be fine then bogs just a little, but i can rev it!! but then it dies after the rev if i let go of gas. the weird thing is i can start up my car and without my maf!! (ok i did take it to the shop when and i dont know what they did to my 240sx but it can start without my maf they must of f*** with it) ok experts!! this is not normal correct? the car shouldnt even start without the maf not hooked up!! if any knowledge of this issue please let me know bc im trying to get it done bc its been a year and 6 months since i saw my baby on the road! and thanks!!

yes the car will run with it unplugged. the computer should go into limp mode and not rev past 2.5k rpm. if you are still having idle issues check your tps sensor. i had a weird problem in my celica and the tps was out of adjustment. good luck

my car did that exact same thing before,

you probably already went threw this but i would start with all the things that control the idle, stuff like the vaccume to the iacv, the iacv itself, the noids, TPS sensor

its seems to me that when the throttle isnt open it will die which means that your idling system isnt functioning properly

thanks poshatch and momoman lolz i wil go and check my vac's and the tps sensor. I had a feeling it would be something in the intake manny such as the iacv but i clean that with carb cleaner and it still did the same thing. so recently i did a ecu dianostic, and it came out to be 11 and 12 and 34. which is crank pulley sensor, maf, and knock sensor. so ima switch the crank pully sensor out! and the knock sensor out. the maf? ill will have to invest in a brand new one even though i dont want too bc i already bought like 4 and it seems like they all dont work. Ima do a omh reading to for my harness even though i think its not my harness but just to be safe! thanks again ill keep ya posted and ill try to have pix of my car!
