Hello all,

I have "rebuilt" dual cam that won't start. It used to start when I first brought it home. Previous owner told me that timing chain is off and when i test drove it, motor felt like chain was off. Motor was bugging and not getting power to speed up. I replaced the distributor cap and rotors and tried to line it up but ever since, motor doesn't want to start to this day. Any ideas?? I'm about to take it apart and actually check the timing chain out then try to fix it. Some advices or any kind of help before I take the motor apart will be much appreciated. BTW, when I throttle little bit, it does catch spark. Just can't turn over.

If the timing chain is off, go check the timing chain.

If the previous owner says the chain is off, how did it get off? I had trouble installing a distributor awhile back, I kept going off one tooth. Wouldn't start/idle nothing.
