Uh, no.Barnav1t wrote:I guess what I am trying to say..without trying to sound like a jerk is, go wrench on your car for a while instead of typing about it. You will most likely solve the problem.

Yeah, when there is a problem, i would much rather see a person do research and ask around on what are the possible problems and what can be done to fix them...instead of going to work on the car first and potentially f*** something up in the process.
Yes. The op should work on his car to fix it...
But this i disagree with.Barnav1t wrote:go wrench on your car for a while instead of typing about it. You will most likely solve the problem.
a bar a soap on the belt worked for me. i had to leave it rubbing on belt for maybe 20 seconds and squeal stopped so i knew the problem lay with alternator or alternator belt. or pulley alignment etc etcOsirux wrote:It's a 91 hatch, 5spd. Bought so I could fix it up. Gives me something to do.

I've narrowed it down to being the fan belt, thinking it's a bit loose though, so I'll do what Barnav said, wrench it out. Hopefully it'll fix it.
Thanks for the advice though!
