Simple question.

I need to replace the slave cylinder on my rb20 transmission. Will a slave cylinder from a ka24de (s13) fit directly on? Or do I need a vg30de one or what.

I searched for this on the boards, and got 2 results, I dont think it had a definate answer though.

Thanks in advance.

what's the cy;inder bore on the one you want to use? I't a fraction cast into the cylinder.

There's a size of the bore of your slave cylinder, just like an engine cylinder, it's the area across...

But that's besides the point. Yes, the stock 240 slaves will work on the RB20 transmission. I've gone through 4. (They're the same transmission. )

i can confirm. i'm using the ka on my rb20 right now. the ka transmission slave cylinder is the same as the rb20...email me if you need one, i have an extra rb20's. or you can get one at the local auto parts store (autozone, oreilly, etc...) just ask for the 240sx's.

Well, yeah the internals of the transmission are the same, but the bell housings are different, and when I compared my ka cylinder to the rb's, they had one difference. The length of the rod is the same, and the cylinders work in the exact same fassion, but the ka's cylinder mounts out a little farther than the 20's, causing the rod to by a little skewed. It's not really a problem though, just use a ka one.

Now can anyone verify if it'll work on the RB25 box?

I have the KA on the Rb20 trans (rb25 engine...long story) and it bolts on but the rod is skewed. Don't know if thats a bad thing, but I was too lazy to swap them out, because I didnt want to do any bleeding. Don't know if it works or not yet.

I've got a 240sx spec slave cylinder from autozone even working great on my RB20DET trans. It just bolts on and pushes the clutch fork, it never knows the difference.
