I just purchased an Apexi AFC Neo to go along with my JWT ECU. I have a 1993 SE w/ the KA24DE. I have already hooked up the wiring and that went well, just curious on the sensor type number.

The manual figures for the SR20 to be the Hotwire setup with number 6 as the sensor type. I went with the same setup on intialize and it started fine and idles but when I took it down to the dyno and took a base run to see where to adjust everything and it was running crazy lean, basically through the whole rpm range!!

Everything is set at zero still with the correction turned off. The correction value (+/- 6%, 15%, 50%) is still at +/-6%. Should the sensor type be at something else or should I just leave it and start adjusting to get in a safe a/f ratio all around. The throttle point is set at the factory for low throttle 10% and high throttle 50%, but I was going to set it at 30%/80% while doing a part throttle pull at 30% to adjust the low then 80-100% pull then adjust the high leaving the middle 30-80% as to what the manual says up to the linear polarization.

I know that JWT makes a pretty aggressive map but do you think that is what is running lean since nothing has been changed on the AFC or maybe with the +/-6% correction value factored in, it might be creating that situation?

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

I am also using a JWT ecu and a neo. I am also using a cobra maf. My problem is that it is running too rich through the revs. I have had the most luck with using hotwire, 1 in (for the larger maf) and 6 out (for the stock KA maf). My understanding is the larger the diameter maf the lower the setting. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Anyway, are you using a KA maf or cobra? If KA i would set it at 6in/6out. Lower the "in" number and see if the air fuel ratio corrects itself. Just curious, how was your idle a/f ratio before using the neo?
