hi need some help. recenlty got a whole KA from a guy going to put it in a s13. the thing is stuck!! i cant turn it over. i took the oil pan off to look at the pistions they got a little build up around them. but i dont know what to do in order to free all of the pistons. plan was to rebuild the ka up. any suggestions on what pistons and rings to put in it, a guy was telling me NPR off of ebay for the rings(sounds cheap). thanks

Are you sure the pistons aren't hitting the valves?

the ka24de in the s13 i recently bought has the same problem. the owner said it may be the piston but a friend of mine tells me it could be from the parts not being lubed up enough. i havent taken the engine out to check so im not sure atm.

the pistons are not hitting,but they are still not moving even when i hit them with a ratchet extension through the plug hole. the crank is free but pistons are not.
