Ok, so heres my problem: I am putting a ka24de into my datsun 510. It is a ka24de out of a s14, but I am using the ecu and wiring harness out of a s13. So far I have swapped out the distributor, maf, and temp sensor. The car starts but only keeps idle for about a minute, and it doesn't rev. I dont have any wiring to the transmission hooked up though, does this have an effect on it at all? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

check for vacum leaks check o2 sensor check sensors on back of engine sometimes thet get brittel cause of heat and break your intake air control and some other sensors are back there take a look at all thoughs try runing the car unplug maf and see what happens if engine speed doesn;t change the maf is bad or not working right.....if you do this it will throw a code so you will have to clear them by dis conecting the battery for like 5 mins let me know how it goes hit me up on myspace at myspace.com/nissan240sxdan

Your distributor timing is a tooth or 2 off. I had the same thing happen when I took my dis out for the chain guide removal. It ran like **** and died when I gave it gas. Dis timing was off like 2 teeth. Search and you can find exactly how to install it right.

I'll check the maf, the other sensors seem to be good. When I have the tps sensor unplugged it will idle okay, but once I plug it in, the car sputters and dies.

I did put a s14 engine into my s13 chassis and I have swapped out the distributor, and TB, because the harness does not match. And for the trans I did an auto to manual swap and I dont have any wires except the speed sensor connected.zeropost?cmd=reply&id=2912417&quote=1#h ... er...ote=1#
