ka24de rebuild

I'm in the process of attempting to rebuild a ka24de out of my 93 240. the number 2 rod journal on the crank shaft is totally shot. I have a sohc engine in a car sitting in my driveway.

My question is this: has anybody used a sohc crankshaft on a dohc motor? and if so, did you have to make any modifications?

I know the shaft coming off the front of the crank is a bit longer on the sohc. I don't think there are any significant differences between the cranks other than this (haven't checked the weights yet).

I was just planning on making a washer that makes up the difference of the shaft length to tighten down the crank pulley

If there is anybody with any experience with this, your wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
