i've been looking into rebuilding my ka for a long time and have come up with what i know i need but i still have a few questions.

OEM gasket kitarp headstudsoem piston ringsand bearings

i was going to do a timing rebuild too but i just read a bunch of stuff with guys saying that the timing chain never needs to be replaced, and that its usually just the guides and tensioners that break. So if i'm tearing it all apart anyways should i redo the timing even if there is nothing wrong with it? if i decide to not rebuild the timing will i still need to disassemble it to replace gaskets?

i'm rebuilding just to fix an oil leak, improve compression, and generally prepare for a turbo setup. is there anything else i should do while i'm rebuilding? My friend with a supra and some mechanical experience recommended that i get some cams, what do you guys think.

i'm totally open to advice. thanks in advance.

well if your going to do a turbo later u might as well get low compression pistons now since the motors out of your car that'll help in the long run

not really what i was looking for, i'm not goin crazy with the turbo setup lookin for about 300 horse. I've read plenty of articles that say i dont need forged for about 350 and under.

you will find sire that after a while..300hp wont stop your cravings for more hp gains..as hp tuning is highly addicting..its best now to upgrade with decent forged items then have to gut it out later and rebuild again..just my opinion.

Replacing parts is up to the builder. If that means you. This is where your judgement comes in. Also, if your on a budget stay with it! Be proud of your work and good luck!
