KA24DE Rebuild (alredy searched)

yo guys, got my 240 about 3 months ago, it has 132,***mi on it, it still runs strong but I am looking to go KA-T, finally decided against the SR20. Anyways, I am apprehensive about turboing a motor with 132k on it so I am looking for a decent rebuild kit ...anyone know of a good, reputable kit that would let me handle 300-350hp...right now I'd rather quality as opposed to price, but a nice, decently priced kit would also be nice

ams has a kit.probably.. somewhere in the neighborhood of 3-4grand.

just turbo it.. 132k is a babied car. loli have 208k and i plan on turbo this winter..

i've seen AMS' kit amd its about $1700 for the bottom end, nothing for the top end....any other info on rebuild kits would be appreciated

What do you want in the kit? rings bearings seals gaskets o rings oil pump anything else?

Well there is no such thing as an all inclusive rebuild kit (top and bottom). We should be so lucky they make kits now, wasn't the case about 3 years ago.

wait so you say you can turbo a ka24de with like 132k on it with no problems? like it would be fine? i know there are exceptions including how those miles were put on and if it was kept up. but like if it was kept up with normal care and had say like mostly freeway miles on it, just commute car, it would be fine to turbo? say about 200-230 hp?

Yes and yes. As long as your water pump and oil pump are good you should have no worries. I have 172,xxx on my S14 Zenki and it still runs like a champ. No knocks or weird noises, the front main seal leaks but other than that no problems what so ever.

You should be fine to turbo that motor as long as you keep the boost around 7-8lbs.

If you can afford it do it tho. Also, make sure your car is running well in the first place comp, leaks, etc. Just some info tho, my ka spun a bearing at 135k cuz the oil pump went out. So, makes ure your stuff is in great shape.

I guess what I'm looking for is rebuild my motor so its practically brand new...so far the AMS kit for the bottom end looks the best...do they make a top end kit...do i need a top end kit?

If your compression is ok and engine runs fine (no smokes) go ahead...turbo that sucker!!

I turboes my 93 at 103,xxx milesgot another engine and prepping it just in case.

has anyone rebuilt their KA...what else is there other than the AMS kit for rebuilds...i want basically a newer and stronger KA...words of wisdom?
