So, ive been doing a little research dabbling at cost of turboing and decided my goals are rather low for my dd/drift car. I just think that drifting doesnt need 400whp to be fun.
So thus i came up with Supercharging like a logical solution for power. Since i never use my A/c in the summer, i decided i could easily take that out and put a eaton m62 from like a nissan xterra or fontier. ive been searching on here, and cannot find to many 240 drivers doing a supercharged build.
Anyways.
It doesnt seem to be like a super expensive thing to do, on a stock KA.
Sr injectors. Emanage. rebuilt supercharger($200). either DIY Vented hood. or find a custom shop to do it. Injen makes a Short-ram with a CAI extension i was thinking about using. or doing all custom piping i dont know yet. Side-mount intercooler, a 4-7psi pulley havent decided yet.

Basicially im just trying to get some opinions or if anyone else has done it

Goals are basicially between 225-275whp.

Thoughts, opinions. if anyone else has done it. i would love to see how much the cost was, and what all you bought.

Thanks.

ya i looked on ebay, his kit is 3grand. it seems like it can be done for much cheaper. Although his kit is basicially everything you would need, you could do ti for MUCH cheaper.

Depending on your fab skills you can get a centrifugal head unit for and under a $1K and make a bracket and tensioner. The you would just need to cover fuel and timing.

Now my question is how much was the supercharged VQ swap? that seems interesting. Basicially another reason im doing this is because, i dont wanna be apart of the trend's everyone has going. i have a good friend, who loves to work on cars doing something not of the norm. Thus he said he would help me if i got everything i needed. Basicially im still learning about all this stuff. I really enjoy driving, and am trying too learn a little more too the otherside of it all...

Well, I parted out my 416whp KA-t and it funded about 90% of the VQ swap. There is also a good amount of custom fab involved with the swap. I had to make motor mounts which included cross member mods, trans mounting mods, header, downpipe, and exhaust. Not to mention electronics. Tons of work, but worth it.

not really wanting turbo, if i go turbo im gonna do a swap like a CA18DET,

Also, i said Emanage as an example. Personally id like to go with a standalone with an Ipad in the fiberglass dash im working on. They have a pretty wicked program for the Ipads ive seen inafew supras at the audio shop i work at here. and it seemed intrigueing. but im not going for that much boost/hp on this car.
this is my coupe, and id like a KA24DE-R, and then ima get a hatch and do a CA18DET. just my preference. but Im thinking i could do an Eaton m62 with 5-7PSI of boost, now that im finding out a lil more info, prob for like 1800-2k

Probabley off topic but a master tech I know used to have a 240 and he said he ran a centrifugal where the ac comp used to be and made his own brackets etc. , That might be out of your budget but nevertheless an idea instead of having to make an adapter plate. He said he ran no tune no nothing just a little timing retard and the ecu actually compensated, I was surprised myself. You could probably get away with a rrfpr or fmu depending on how much you actually want to push but 4-7 psi sounds like your should try to not over complicate things.
