Hi,

Has anyone built a ka24de for propane? Goal is for a torquey little 4 cylinder that's good in the city and good on fuel. 87 octane is $1.75 per litre where I'm at ($6.62 per gallon). While the cost of propane is 90 cents a litre ($3.4 per gallon) Chassis would be a nissan d21 2wd 5 speed. I will look at respective gearing and tire size later.

Been creating a rough build list for what I think would work

-Ka24de long block
-Factory crank
-Factory rods
-Ka24e pistons (shooting for static CR of 11:1, will make my tolerance adjustment with head milling and HG sizing)
-Oem cam swap (240-240, 248-248, 248-232) what ever works for the setup. Definitely will be some trial and error.
-adjustable cam gear?
-Factory distributor setup (easy timing adjustment)
-Chinese long tube headers
-Hacked up ka24e carb intake or just fabricate my own.
-125 series propane mixer

Where I need help:
Cylinder head- does anyone know where to get hardened valve seats? Older sbc, Ford straight 6 and other Neanderthal American engines crack between the seats due to insufficient cooling with propane. Would that be a concern for the ka24de? Or is the Japanese quality going to be my lucky saviour?

Rotating weight:
Would you guys recommend lighter rotating mass in the engine or heavier for city driving? Is it worth going with aluminum pulleys and lightweight flywheel? What would give me better fuel economy?

Thanks

Sorry just noticed that I've posted in the wrong section. Is it possible to have this moved to the ka24de section?

Thanks
