KA24DE PRICES?????

I called a junk yard and they told me that a KA24DE would be $450 exchanged (for my ka24e), do you guys think that is a good deal?? It is pretty much a long block.

My junkyard sells used engines for $250 does not matter what engine or what car... $175 for just the block but you have to pull it out of the car yourself..

i paid 500 for my 61,000 mile motor and i still don't regret it

however, the 200 dollar motor looked like a200 dollar motor.... so it needed bearings and clean up

I think what we are saying is look elsewhere that is overpriced unless it's in super sweet condition.. Good luck

Ok, I just got back from the junk yard, and the engine looked great!!! While i was there i knoticed that the engine was rebuilt because it was CLEAN! The owner wanted to change his mind about letting it go for 450 but it was too late. There is a pretty big chance i am going to go get it here in a couple of weeks!By the way the only think missing is the Valve Cover. So now what do you guys think?

Also, can i use the KAE transmission with the KADE Engine???????

I picked one up just the other day for $600(yea, a little high but guaranteed to run and warrantied for 45 days) so, just depends on what you're trying to get

Valve cover off? I'd be worried about that.Yes transmission's are the same.

clean? meaning the motor doesnt have a varnished or brown color in the head. A really clean head looks almost greyish-green. thats probably the worst color description, but i have one schitty head and one clean head.

especially in a junkyard i don't like that valve cover off.... but i say buy it up if you cant find anything else

you could see where new parts have been replaced and yea I could see into the head, and it looked in real good condition. Is there anything major i need to do to convert my car into the KADE? Help please...
